A village bumpkin gets married to a highly educated urban woman. The movie narrates the differences, trials and tribulations they encounter as they spend their lives together.

When Kulkarni and Bandari plan to kill the CM, Samrat, an unemployed man, saves him. However, Samrat promises to put an end to Bandari's tantrums.

Samrat is a psychopath who wants to take revenge on the person (Sundar) at any cost, who killed his father and damaged his mother's conduct. He believes that his late mother is still alive. Samrat wants to impose the same fate as Sundar's daughters. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

The mermaid is rescued by Raviraj (Venkatesh) a local fisherman and his crew, and he decides to let her stay until she recovers. She is not capable of human speech, and mimics everyone around her, and therefore everyone thinks she is insane. Raviraj decides to call her Sona. Bhairavi locates Sona, but must first overcome Raviraj and his crew. She schemes with Ganga (Malashri), who is in love with Raviraj and feels threatened by Raviraj's attentions on Sona, and will do anything, including kill, to have Raviraj for herself...
